Assessment Philosophy at 4women Psychology
At 4Women Psychology, our assessment practices are guided by a Neurodiversity Affirming Model with a commitment to understanding each client’s unique experience, particularly when working with neurodivergent women and girls. We reject a deficit-focused approach and instead:
We tailor each assessment to explore the client’s lived experience, strengths, needs, and preferences. We aim to understand differences rather than identify deficits.
Our reports are written in clear, compassionate language that is respectful and avoids unnecessary clinical jargon and reduces pathologising or medicalised framing. We focus on what will be empowering and meaningful for the client.
We actively seek supervision, consultation, and education from neurodivergent voices to ensure our assessments are respectful, and responsive.
